Day 30

It’s The Freaking Weekend!

Ever feel completely bogged down by one week of vigorous schooling? Well, hand five, cause thats how I am feeling!

So today is going to be short! Today I crushed my chemistry test, but I will just sit and wait for two weeks for my grade… ugh!

This is lesson #30! Short, simple, and sweet….

Get off your phone, go outside, and go enjoy the weekend!

Day 29

Small & Simple Things

Stress, stress, stress, oh how I love all this stress… said no one ever!

Today I woke up ready to face the day and then I remembered how much I had to conquer today and that icky feeling sank over me! I remembered I had to go to work and then a review session, and then I had to work and I felt like “not today!!!”

However, half way through work, my sweet husband dropped off my favorite drink and it made my whole day! I thought to myself that I could do anything with his sweet self by my side! In my opinion it’s all about the little things!

So when things are tough, focus on the little things! The little joys! The little wins! Never forget in all difficult times, there is joy to be found! Hug that person you love and call your mom! That is lesson #29!

Find Joy in Your Journey!

Focus on the good and always remember there is always tomorrow and this test shall too pass!

Hang on! You’re almost done!

Day 28

Just Do It!

Seems like Nike had it right all along! JUST DO IT! But… studying is the bane of my existence and I hate it! I have this huge chemistry test coming up this week and I am so nervous! I know if I take the time to study, it won’t be too bad…

BUT ITS THE WHOLE STUDYING THING!

My advice is to take a deep breath, have a reward waiting at the end of it all, and just knock it out!

Schedule time each day where you force yourself to just study! Today I started to prep with extra book problems and online homework reviews! I am planning to attend my review session and kick butt!

It is ooh so difficult, I KNOW! But that is lesson #28!

Studying will pay off!

I promise every time I have taken extra time, I know that without a doubt it pays off!

The extra hours and a few extra tears are always worth it! Never give up!

Day 27

Finding Nemo

A wise fish in the big blue sea once said,

When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming!

Dory reminded me today, that when everything feels blue and you’d rather be sleeping, just remember to keep swimming!

My whole house is beach themed, because who doesn’t love the ocean?! And as I was looking around at my home today, I noticed how peaceful and quite the ocean can be. However, with one crashing wave, it can be oh so loud too!

Thats our lives! Peaceful and serene, waves crashing and the next moment BAM! My new motto, is take it like a surfer and just keep swimming!

A talented surfer waits for the swell, waits for the wave to crash, the crashing of a wave, bring the most beautiful rides! So remember to be like the surfer! Come triumphant to the wave and have the most gorgeous ride ever! That is lesson #27!

Just ride the wave!

Hang on to your board, get a little sun burnt, and crash through that wave!

Day 26

Don’t Skip!

Everyone has their own opinion, based on their major! In my opinion, every time I skip a class, I regret it!

I am a double-major in Interdisciplinary Studies and Spanish! I take a ton of science classes and a ton of Spanish classes, and every time I miss one, I always suffer!

College is no joke and neither is attendance! No one cares a lot about your attendance, because if you skip, you’re wasting your money and hurting your education!

Spend your time skipping in high school ( don’t repeat that to anyone!) BUT really, high school is free, college DEFINITELY isn’t!

Your professors aren’t lying to you, I promise! However, I do believe in one or two personal days, but pick days that are irrelevant! And if you get sick, good luck! Unless you have a doctors note or an all star athlete, no one cares! Thats lesson #26!

Always have Vitamin C handy & go to class!

You can do it, just force yourself! Best of luck!

Day 25

Woah.. We’re Half Way There & Livin’ On a Prayer!

Well, well, well, I have made it 25 days into my college junior journey! Crazy to think that I am almost done with my 3rd year here at school!

I can some up what I have learned in these 25 days with one sentence!

I am capable of much more than I ever thought!

I started this blog, doubting my abilities to balance anything, let alone everything, yet somehow here I am surviving! I have changed my study habits and mindset! I have accomplished what I set out to accomplish (twice!)

The other day I received a 90% on my physiology test and I thought to myself I had finally learned lesson #25!

It all works out, just when and how it is supposed to!

Did I want to take that class 3 times? HECK NO! But, I did it and I am coming back with a vengeance! Hard work always pays off, college will pay off, all the studying and sleepless nights will be but a small moment!

Just like Bon Jovi said,

“Take my hand, we’ll make it I swear
Woah, livin’ on a prayer!!”

Day 24

Getting good ZZZ’s

Sleep is the most important thing in college! Yet, its the most impossible thing ever!

If you’re dreaming big, then you can guarantee, your work load is even bigger! With so much work demanding all of your time, it seems that getting sleep is mission impossible! But in my three years trapped in college, I have slowly grasped how easy it can be!

Rule #1: Make a schedule!

Rule #2: Stick to that schedule!

Rule #3: Accomplish that schedule!

If you schedule sleep and schedule your time, you will find that your mind is much more motivated! Knowing what you have to accomplish in one day helps to diminish stress!

If your mind knows you have a paper to write, a quiz to study for, and a worksheet to accomplish at 9AM, it will spend less time trying to decide what to do and focus more on what has to be done! That is lesson #24!

Schedule, schedule, schedule!!!

If you hold yourself accountable you will find a lot more confidence, less stress, and more sleepy time! So set that schedule and catch those ZZZ’s!

Day 23

The Rate Determining Step

This morning I was sitting in chemistry, completely baffled. This material has been so tough, but my professor began to draw a roof, gutter and rain. He then proceeded to teach us about rate constants in a reaction and called one of the factors the ‘rate determining step’.

He then continued to say …

You’re only as fast as your slowest step

He got me thinking about my path in college! Credit wise, I am a senior, but I have been in school for 3 years and somehow I still have 2 years left! It got me thinking that I will have done 5 years of college!! 5 years?! What the heck!! It seems so crazy long but in reality, its zoomed by! I am about to finish my third year and I don’t even remember all that I have learned!

People will tell you to hurry up, you are wasting money. You’ll scroll through Instagram and feel like you are 12 years behind, but TBH you are right where you need to be! GO fast, go slow, take your time, fall in love, fail a little, study hard, cry tons, get hurt, get back up, and then graduate! Thats lesson #23!

Take your time! Enjoy the ride!

Life will fly by before you know it! If your slowest step in your bachelors degree, then you are fast! If five years is fast, then you go! Whatever you do, however long it takes, just kick butt!

Day 22

Justice in Injustice

No one can escape you

No can erase you

You seem to grab everyone by the hand

and lead them far away

You take what matters most

There is no time table

There is no warning

Sometimes you will leave clues

But most of the time, you just leave

You are selfish

You are unkind

You are demanding

No cares in the world

No passport

You just come and go as you please

No wonder no one likes you

No wonder everyone avoids you

Fights you off

Fights to lose you

That is why your name fits you perfectly

Thats why everyone calls you

DEATH

That is why we fight

Why we grasp every moment

Thats why you can’t be with us

That is why you will lose

It is all because we crave something better

LIFE

Day 21

Always Take Your Own Advice

Today at work a coworker had a tough moment and I immediately was not very understanding, however, I should have realized that everyone is facing something. I should have taken my own advice and been kind!

Today should have been a day off (UGH!), but it was not and I found myself banging my head against a wall all day. I tried to make the best of it with light conversation and remaining pleasant, but I would have rather been at home!

Someone came to express some harsh emotions to me and I just smiled, comforted, but secretly rolled my eyes. I thought it was a silly topic, but I realized in the end it was so very important to that person and I was being rude.

If something that life has taught me, not just college, its that life is tough for everyone! No one skids free of some sort of trial or heartache. So do not get walked over but don’t rain on everyone’s parade. That is lesson #21.

Remember to be considerate, always

We are all human, we all face things, but we must stick together and be kind.
