This is Me!

A little too ambitious? No such thing!

For those kind enough to read this, I am Alyna DeLaigle. I am a lover of tacos, dancing in the bathroom, and my husband. Words for me have always been my weapon of choice and I thought there could not be a better idea then to use them for good. Starting this blog is a leap into a little bit of the unknown! So here is to watching me learn, grown and probably cry over the next 50 days!

Day 50

This is lesson #50!

I seriously can not believe that I have made it to day 50! What an actual miracle!

It’s insane, because I knew that when I reached day 50, this chapter of my life would end! I would officially be entering my Senior year of college! What a crazy time to be alive!

I though long and hard about what to share today and I wanted to share the greatest lesson I have learned through all of this. It may seem obvious, but this is lesson #50!

Everything always works out!

No matter how many tears you cry, no matter how many tests you may fail, everything always works out. It will all happen how it should. At the end of the day, all the work you need to finish will be done. At the end of the week, you’ll do all you can. At the end of the month, there will always be a weekend. At the end of a semester, there will be a breather. I promise as you push forward, you will find that everything will be okay! Don’t be scared! Don’t stress TOO much! Just relax! Enjoy this time!

College is the best thing ever and make sure you’re learning and partaking in it! Cause in the end, you’ll walk across that stage and wish you could go back! Hang tight and push forward! Everything will work out!

Day 49

Invictus

This is my favorite poem in the whole world and I want to leave it here before my last day as a college junior. I want it forever as a reminder, that I am in charge of my life and my decisions.

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. That is lesson #49!

Make sure that no matter what you choose, you put you first! You pick happiness and joy first!

William Ernest Henley wrote this poem while in the hospital battling for his life. The title “Invictus” means unconquerable. That is my word. There is nothing that can not be conquered in college. I am in charge and I am capable of greatness.

Day 48

When Things Get Hard, Get Creative!

Lately, you can find me trapped at my laptop & I’m going crazy! I feel like I can not understand anything! I feel like this is too tough! Things feel twice as stressful, because I am my own professor. Things are so difficult!

So when in doubt, get creative! I have become so creative the last few days!

I have tried all sorts of new things! I am writing, I am painting, and I am even coloring! It has been so tough! But I am trying! It has been so nice to have an art buddy! That is lesson #48!

Use your talents! Get Crafty!

Try something new! Test your new talents! You can do it! Don’t give up! You are almost done!

Day 47

Professors are the Real Heroes!

I would like to take a moment, to teach or mention what I think is the most important thing in college! & that is professors!

They will literally make or break you! Some may say that it doesn’t matter, it just depends on how much effort you put forth as a student, but I strongly disagree!

You can put in 100% effort and a picky grader still will be picky. You can be a great student, but teaching and learning styles will clash. AND thats okay! It is so important to understand your learning style and your teachers teaching techniques. There is no one mold on how you learn or how they teach! That is why there are thousands of students and hundreds of professors! That is lesson #47!

Pick a professor that fits you!

Ask friends that have similar learning styles as you! Ask online! Go sit in one of their classes and see if you could mesh well! Test class out the first day and then evaluate! No matter what you do, make sure they will fit you! They will be the biggest aid in your college experience, they are the true heroes! So make sure you choose the one that will save you!

Day 46

Breakfast Ideas!

They say that the most important meal of the day is breakfast, but it is also the most likely to be skipped.

It is so hard to wake up early enough to make some breakfast so here are some easy ideas for you!

Eggos Waffles

Poptarts

Toaster Strudels

Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Muffins (make them the night before!)

Eggs

Smoothie

Peanut Butter Toast

Just always remember to grab something! That is lesson #46!

Breakfast creates champions!

Day 45

Simple Joys

I have been reflecting a lot lately on how to be more grateful for this quarantine time. I have been looking on the happier side. There are so many simple joys I have been fully engaged in!

My sweet husband is obviously #1. I have been able to spend numerous hours with him and learn more about him. It has been so much fun just being together

I have loved sleeping in! I have caught up on all the sleep I have missed for years!

Being able to sit in bed and learn chemistry, is the best thing ever.

And the good ole wii. What a blessing. I am now a Mario Kart pro!

This is lesson #45!

Enjoy these moments, we won’t get them back

Day 44

Are We Done Yet?

I am officially at the point in the semester where I am begging to be done! This semester always seems to be the most painful and the one that never seems to end!

Spring semester is always the death of me…. and to make it worse, the sun is coming out!

This is the part in the year where your brain wants to breathe and you just need a break! And NO Spring Break wasn’t enough!

My advice is finish your work early, if you can! Get ahead and begin studying for finals! That is lesson #44!

Plan ahead, work hard, and push forward!

Sadly, there is no way around the end of spring semester! SO all you have to do is push forward! Ward hard and good luck!

Day 43

I’ve Got Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

Well the sun is out! And I have been waiting for this for way too long!

Favorite things to do in the sun:

1: Open up the windows and let the house get nice and toasty!

2: Photosynthesis with the plants

3: Find the nearest land of water and be with it!

4: Drink a smoothie! Grab a snack!

5: Play beach volleyball!

Go outside! Its the best thing ever! Whether you love playing sports or you just like to relax! Thats lesson #43!

Go outside!

Day 42

Tips for Being Quarantined

Well this sure isn’t something I ever thought I would write about, but today I am! What an interesting time in the world right now and what a blessing to be safely in my home! If you’re dying of boredom and going crazy, here are some tips!

1: Plan dinner but make your significant other be the hands to the operation, you could even tell them to make their own recipe!

2: Paint cute little canvases to put around the house

3: Learn a new skill of some sort.. sewing? cleaning? organizing? sleeping?

4: Dust everything!

5: Do some spring cleaning!

6: Pick a new movie series to watch! Preferably a long one!

7: Learn a new language?

8: Try working out at home!

9: Tuck your phones away and play get to know you games with your family

10: Do some laundry! I know, I know, I don’t want to either!

Hopefully, time will fly and you’ll find all new talents that you love to have!

Day 41

Online School + Strep = NO Fun!

Well… I thought this whole online school thing was going to be quite fun, however, I was wrong!

ONLINE SCHOOL SUCKS, and I have one professor in particular that is going to be toilet papered.. if there was any toilet paper left! Seriously, where is all the toilet paper? Asking for a friend!

Well, if you asked me how I predicted my Junior year going, it would never have included filing for unemployment, being quarantined, and doing school from home. But then again, no one would have!

On top of all that craziness, I somehow managed to dodge COVD-19 and get the good ole’ strep throat! So thats been miserable!

I hope this all ends quickly and the sun comes out soon, because TBH this sucks! Thats lesson #41!

Sometimes it honestly does suck!

Try to make the most of this situation, but good luck!
